Third World Culture
Co-hosted by Andrew Tedy, with appearances by Almer Mikhail

Third World Culture (TWC) is an occasional podcast and ongoing cultural project that reclaims overlooked creative voices from Southeast Asia and its global diasporas.

We are interested in what exists outside dominant cultural narratives—voices shaped by contradiction, migration, class tension, digital noise, and lived complexity. Rather than smoothing these perspectives into market-friendly stories, TWC preserves their friction.

Through long-form conversations and reflective storytelling, we build a slow archive of Southeast Asian creative thought. Each episode becomes a space where artists, writers, and cultural workers can speak in their own language without dilution, translation, or performance for external approval.

TWC also functions as a distributed “third space” for creative exchange across Indonesia and beyond. In a context where physical spaces for independent discourse are limited or inaccessible, the podcast becomes an alternative site of gathering: intimate, decentralized, and accessible across distance.

We are not interested in content production for consumption. We are interested in cultural memory, disagreement, nuance, and the unfinished.
